Week 11 ’18 EOC

I have decided that this post is the end of my clothing challenge. Goodbye morning stress!

On a good note, I plan to go back to journaling; similar to my original blogspot posts. My outfit posts do not inspiring me or make me happy. I am really excited about this next step forward.  Keto On…

Now that the pressure is off, I will probably start dressing better! 🙂

Week 10 ’18

Starting off the week (Sunday), Geoff and I were invited to an Italian dinner 75 birthday party in down town San Jose. Wine, pasta, and dessert (homemade cannoli’s) was worth the carb loading that evening. Let me also mention that after the meal, I fasted for 32hrs!! Accomplishing a 32hr fast was a first for me and got me excited to try a 48hrs… which I am doing today!

The birthday dinner attire was casual and my friend mentioned wearing jeans my leopard boots (she wore her boots).

I put together the outfit below/left.

The cream sweater is Angora and I wore my favorite thrifted jeans. I loved this outfit so much that I ended up wearing it to work last Tuesday.

Geoff and I had another dinner date yesterday (Friday), so I set myself up with a pair of white jeans and this oversized light weight brown CABI sweater. Tucking in the sweater was a nightmare because the top is very wide and boxy. I pulled out a blazer to stay warm(er) in the office. I see from the photo that I need to adjust my clothes in the mirror before I have Alexa take a picture! 🙂 I look lopsided!

The white jeans are WHBM. Although I am not too fond of the capri look, however, the detail (not shown) of the crystal rivets are a great touch and remind me of my True Religion jeans and also my favorite thrifted jeans above.  I will wear these white jeans more often! Oh, the other thing, like my True Religion, these jeans did not stretch out and kept the shape all day and into the evening! I LOVE THAT.

Week 9 ’18

As I head into March; the month of birthday’s, wine tasting, get togethers, and dinners, the commitment I made (last week) to use Cladwell did not pan out. The tool always returns one or two things that I do not feel like wearing, so I scrap the daily ideas all together.

A few things I believe that I am lacking with coordinating outfits are inspirations from fashion photos. I may run out and buy a Teen Beat (jk) Vogue & Cosmopolitan magazines.

Also, most of the lookbook videos on YouTube are created by 20 somethings who do not have my same body type or wrinkles. It is hard to put stuff together when everything looks good on them.

Looking stylish, creative, or put together is so much harder than I thought.

Another week is another disappointment.

Back to the drawing board.

The kitten heel boots were purchased at DSW. After the sale price and another $10 off, they were $30 (originally $200). The shoes name is Nelson! I love the boots and they are a lot of fun. The pleather pants are NeNe Leakes and the sweater is Karen Scott. I opted out of the partial tuck because the pants are high waisted. I should have tried the look because having the sweater tucked in may not have looked as sloppy.

I thrifted the paisley top, pants and loafers. Does it look thrifted? Anyway, I love the individual pieces but maybe not together. The blouse is a peplum style, which maybe will pair better with a darker pant or blue jeans.

At this time in my life, I am really into loafers. The ones I wore are navy blue. Maybe a 3″ heel.

Caught a B. Jones Style video, What She Wore, for this inspiration. I saved all the T shirts through the many years of Erin playing high school and club volleyball. Hoping one day to make a t-shirt blanket to replace the one she lost. This outfit was okay. Looked better in the video (linked).

Okay, the photo on the left has me looking like some crazy doctor from a horror movie… need to opt in a white coat. Not sure what to say about this creative look! I don’t like the color combo or the tuxedo pants. Not to mention the color scheme is way too close to what I wore yesterday.

Here is to Week 10!

Week 8 ’18

How is it that a person who loves clothes as much as I do cannot put an outfit together? Is it that I do not know how to dress my body type or do I just excel in What NOT to Wear? I find it interesting that things look fine when I put everything together. It is after seeing the photos I begin to second guess what I considered cute at the time.

A voice inside me suggested that I switch things up and use Cladwell / Stylebook to pick my outfits for one week (7 days). Hey, it cannot be any worse. Trust me, I am laughing that I actually looked like this.

Week 8 is ending today… Friday!!! Applications get ready and suggest some flattering outfits!

Week 7 ’18

Week 7 lead into a three day weekend… thank you, Presidents! Having that extra day off from work is really nice and something I look forward too.

Paid a visit to Sur La Tab and attended their cooking class; Dutch Oven. Loved the chef who taught the class, her personality was all Duarte and had me laughing because she was so sarcastic.

Monday was the SAVER’ents Day celebration, which had Geoff and I driving up to the Vacaville location where we had a chance to meet-up with Best Friend Matt. Drove back home and stopped at the Danville store and picked up a couple black belts. That location was crowded and a lot of stuff cleared out. Last year we managed to hit three stores. That was fun because we kept running into the same people who were also SAVERS hopping!

(ignore the 1st outfit that I wore the Saturday before, I got mixed up when cropping photos)

Not too thrilled with this weeks choices. It seems off and boring. However, I do my Valentines Day outfit. Erin (daughter) made a comment on Instagram asking if I purchased the top from the Cheshire Cat!

Week 6 ’18

What an amazing week. I cannot believe it is already February. It has been nice getting out of the house. Last weekend was Super Bowl and this weekend was cards; so much fun. I had a great dinner at Pedro’s with good friends, and the office was so quiet… a lot of our team is in South Korea at the Olympics!

I planned a trip out to Folsom to see my parents but the 2hr drive I expected turned into a 5hr drive. Given that I was only in Fairfield with two hours of a drive left, I decided to cancel my trip and head back home. Hopefully I will be able to make it back up to see my folks soon.

I like this top. It is supposed to tie in the front but I decided to tuck it in.

Cladwell outfit selection…boring.

I did not like this outfit. The painted pants are not flattering and way too tight.

These are my favorite jeans. These are my go-to jeans, more than the True Religions I thought were the bomb.

Week 5 ’18

January is over and done. The Bay Are has started the month of February with amazingly warm weather, while inside the office the temperature is 30 below zero.

Cladwell. I admit that refer to the app before I get ready for bed.  I use the look ahead one day option when the current options do not get my heart pumping. The choices Cladwell offers are… blaaaahhh.  There is something about the selections that I do not “feel” like wearing.

Another ideas I had was to refer back to my saved Pinterest pins. That provided a couple options. Why is it so hard shopping from my closet?

This is what I wore week 5:

Saturday, January 27

I have been enjoying my new Adidas. I purchased these from DSW during a sale promotion. DSW was out of the black and gold but after digging, I found the silver. Very comfortable shoe.

Monday, January 29

Intel had an amazing 4th quarter and with my year-end bonus, I decided to treat myself to a Gucci belt. The pants are peach cargos. I like the pants but they stretch out a lot… which is why I wore the belt.

I see a lot of lookbooks that match up animal printed blouses with all sorts of sweaters and that was my inspiration for Wednesday.

Thursday, February 1

Repeating another lookbook that swapped out an animal printed blouse for checked. The gray t-shirt is long enough to wear over leggings and was not the best choice to pair with jeans, however, I liked the top with the blouse.

Friday, February 2

I do not know what I was thinking. Maybe that I wanted to wear these pink loafers, or if I could get away with wearing a bright color with camouflage. For your information, I watched a YouTube video with instructions on how to tuck in a blouse, shirt, and sweater. What did I do??? I ended up fixing the tuck around 3PM.
